In glass bending, a few degrees of difference can be the difference between a perfect curve and a stress fracture. Or worse, a sag. If your oven is too tight for straight lines, we can bend those quartz tubes into U-shapes, arcs, or whatever weird contour your machine requires. This lets you tuck the heat source right up against the glass without smashing into the oven walls. The result? No more cold spots. Just a steady, even heat across the whole piece of glass.
The nerdy stuff (and the trade-offs)
Here’s the thing: when you change the length of a lamp, you change its electrical resistance. You can’t just bend a tube and hope for the best. We recalculate the wattage and voltage for every single custom shape. We do this so your lamps don’t burn out the moment you flip the switch. But there is a catch. If we cram a lot of wattage into a short, custom tube, that quartz is going to get hot.**Really hot.**You’ll want to make sure your ventilation is up to the task, otherwise, you might start warping your oven frame.
